BOB EVANS FARMS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE RETIREMENT

COLUMBUS, Ohio, May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Daniel E. Evans, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Bob Evans Farms Inc., (NASDAQ: BOBE) regretfully announces the early retirement of Keith P. Bradbury, chief financial officer, treasurer and a member of the board of directors of Bob Evans Farms Inc.
Although no charges have been filed, Bradbury decided to retire to avoid any adverse effect on the company resulting from a May 14 search of his home, and that of a tenant on adjacent property also owned by Bradbury, during which marijuana was found by the police.
Bradbury, 59, began his career with Bob Evans in 1957 and in 1963 became an officer of the company. As to the reason for his retirement, Bradbury said that "my great respect for this company, its employees and stockholders will not allow me to continue my employment with Bob Evans Farms at this time. The company's positive reputation is one I do not want to jeopardize."
In accepting Bradbury's decision to take his retirement, Dan Evans said, "I have known Keith Bradbury for 35 years, during which time he has served in a valued leadership role as a member of our management team. His integrity and character, which have served him so well throughout his career, continue to be reflected through his concern for the company."
Accepting interim responsibilities as chief financial officer and treasurer is Donald J. Radkoski, 38, currently vice president, director of finance, and assistant treasurer. Radkoski has worked for Bob Evans Farms since 1980 and in 1988 became an officer.
