BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF S&T BANCORP ANNOUNCES SENIOR MANAGEMENT APPOINTMENTS

 INDIANA, Pa., April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of S&T Bancorp (NASDAQ-NMS: STBA) announced Monday that Robert D. Duggan has been appointed chairman and chief executive officer of S&T Bancorp and James C. Miller has been appointed president of S&T Bank and a member of the board of directors of S&T Bancorp and S&T Bank.

 Duggan, who replaces the recently retired Forrest Brubaker as chairman of the board, joined S&T Bank in 1980 as an executive vice president. In 1982, he was appointed president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors.
 Duggan began his banking career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, Cleveland, in 1959. In 1966, he was promoted to vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve's Cincinnati office. In 1973, Duggan was transferred to the Federal Reserve's Pittsburgh office, where he held the position of senior vice president and managing officer.
 A native of Coshocton, Ohio, Duggan was graduated from Case Western University with a master's of business administration degree in 1963 and received his undergraduate degree from Marietta College in 1959. Duggan is active in various community activities and currently serves as a board member of Indiana Hospital and on the Indiana County Chamber of Commerce board of directors. He resides in Indiana with his wife, Omah.
 Miller began his banking career with the Brookville Bank and Trust Company, Brookville, Pa., in 1971. In 1983, UniBank, formerly Brookville Bank and Trust, was acquired by S&T Bank. At that time, Miller became an executive vice president and secretary of S&T Bank. In 1984, he was appointed secretary of S&T Bancorp and in 1988, president and director of S&T Investment Company.
 Miller was graduated from Penn State University with master's and bachelor's degrees in business administration in 1971 and 1968, respectively. He has also served in the U.S. Army. A native of Brookville, Miller now resides in Indiana where he is active in the community. His community activities include director and vice chairman of the Indiana Hospital board of directors, director and vice president of the Foundaiton for IUP, treasurer of the Alice Paul House and director of the Indiana County United Way.
 Miller and his wife, Nancy, are the parents of five children.
