A court has asked BNP Paribas (BNPP.PA) to pay a fine for false claims.

The bank has been asked to pay USD80m for trying to defraud an agriculture department programme.

The Justice Department said on Thursday that a federal court resolved the government's allegations that the bank participated in a scheme to defraud an agriculture department programme from 1998 to 2005.
