BNA PUBLISHES ENVIRONMENTAL DUE DILIGENCE GUIDE
WASHINGTON, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- The Bureau of National

Affairs, Inc. (BNA), announced today the availability of BNA's Environmental Due Diligence Guide, a new information service covering environmental due diligence requirements for real estate transactions.
Designed for lenders, sellers, and buyers, the guide addresses the impact of environmental laws on real estate transactions and illustrates for subscribers the appropriate use of due diligence to protect themselves, their companies, and clients from superfund liability and other environmental risks.
In addition to outlining the sources and nature of environmental liability, the guide provides detailed information on the identification of contaminated property through environmental site assessments, and the reduction of liability through contractual language, insurance, warranties, covenants, and indemnifications. It also addresses risks that arise in transactions involving multi- family, commercial, and industrial property, landlord/tenant, and non-U.S. party situations. The guide also provides insight on deals that fail and result in foreclosure, workout or bankruptcy.
BNA's Environmental Due Diligence Guide consists of a 1,000-page reference manual updated monthly to reflect the latest techniques, procedures, strategies and tactics, court cases, laws and rules affecting parties involved in real estate transactions. An extensive appendix provides excerpts of federal laws and regulations, selected court cases, agency guidance from the Environmental Protection Agency and the Justice Department, industry guidelines, a summary of state environmental laws and sample forms and contract provisions. The manual contains a glossary of terms and is completely indexed.
Each month, subscribers will receive a newsletter which reports on legislative, regulatory and judicial developments, and lists relevant publications and upcoming conferences. BNA's Environmental Due Diligence Guide is available by subscription for $595.
BNA is a leading publisher of print and electronic news and information services, reporting on developments in business, economics, law, taxation, labor relations, environmental protection and other public policy issues.
