BMW AG (Xetra: BMW), a Germany-based automaker, has announced the price of its 330e iPerformance for the United States market.

The model is to borrow eDrive powertrain innovations from the i3 and i8 and represents an expansion of hybrid technology to BMW's most successful model. The hybrid 3-Series will be priced at USDD44,695. The 330e iPerformance is to arrive at dealerships sometime this summer.

The sedan is powered by a four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine that produces 180bhp and 215 lb-ft of torque. A single electric motor provides an additional 87bhp and up to 184 lb-ft of torque for a short sprint.

Without the burst mode activated, the combined output is quoted as 248bhp and 310 lb-ft.
