TELECOMWORLDWIRE-January 18, 2012-BMC Software announces availability of Remedy OnDemand solution for the government sector(C)1994-2012 M2 COMMUNICATIONS http://www.m2.com
IT Service Management (ITSM) company BMC Software (NASDAQ:BMC) declared on Wednesday that its Remedy OnDemand solution for the government agencies is available now.
According to the company, Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector is the first ITSM SaaS solution optimised for local, state, federal and public higher-education organisations. The solution is expected to be the first ITSM SaaS solution to receive the US Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program's (FedRAMP) provisional authorisation, which becomes fully operational later in 2012.
BMC added that its Remedy OnDemand solution provides SaaS access to the full power and capabilities of the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite (ITSM) and is designed to meet the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). The solution's low and moderate level security controls are being implemented as outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-53, Revision 3 (Recommended Security Controls for Federal Information Systems and Organizations), for Software-as-a-Service. This FISMA compliance should guarantee that the BMC solution meets or exceeds the minimum security requirements for government organisations.
In addition, the company said Dell is hosting the solution as part of a comprehensive private cloud IT solution for BMC and will also team with BMC to resell the Remedy OnDemand for Public Sector solution to public school districts and state and local governments across the US.
