BLOOMINGDALE'S TO ANNOUNCE REOPENING DATE OF MIAMI STORE TO HUNDREDS OF LOYAL SHOPPERS TAKING THE LAST SHUTTLE TO BOCA RATON STORE

MIAMI, Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 3 p.m., hundreds of South Floridians will gather in the parking lot of The Falls Shopping Center, 8778 SW 136 St., where they'll be among the first to hear Bloomingdale's announce its official grand reopening date.
The audience is sure to be an enthusiastic one. They are a group of loyal Bloomingdale's customers arriving for the 3 and 4 p.m. shuttle trips to the Bloomingdale's store in Boca Raton.
Bloomingdale's Operating Vice President/General Manager South Florida Bill Hearst will make the announcement and champagne toast. He states, "We're excited about announcing the reopening date to the public and to our most loyal credit card holders who've been faithfully making the trip to our Boca Raton store for more than a year. I think everyone will be pleased to know exactly when they can start doing their shopping at the Miami store."
Hearst says Bloomingdale's is also planning two private pre-opening shopping days, one for credit card holders, and another to be announced.
The Wednesday bus trip to Bloomingdale's in Boca Raton -- the sixth one since September 1992 -- will be the last before Bloomingdale's Miami store reopens.
Bloomingdale's anticipates that more than 200 of its avid Bloomingdale's customers will meet in front of the Miami store at The Falls to board the luxury buses headed northbound. During the approximately 150-mile round trip, they will be treated to a light meal and refreshments, as well as the latest Bloomingdale's catalog.
Hearst adds that on Wednesday the group of Bloomingdale's travelers will have the chance to put their heads together for a contest to name themselves. "Right now many of them refer to themselves as the 'bus people,' so we thought a contest to come up with an official name would be fun."
Whatever the name selected, this group will not be forgotten. Bloomingdale's is inviting them as "special guests" at the grand reopening celebration. "Chances are, they'll be among the first in the door with their Bloomingdale's cards in hand," said Hearst.
Bloomingdale's was founded in 1872. It currently operates in 15 locations in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Florida, Illinois and Minnesota.
