BLAUPUNKT ANTI-THEFT PATENT SUIT SETTLED

 BLAUPUNKT ANTI-THEFT PATENT SUIT SETTLED
LOS ANGELES, March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The 20-month old patent

infringement lawsuit over the anti-theft coding system used in Blaupunkt car radios has been settled in a pre-trial meeting between local inventor Gainer R. Lewis and Robert Bosch Corporation (Broadview, Ill.), the U.S. distributor of the radios, Lewis said.
Full terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but were said to include, among other provisions, a royalty-bearing license for use of Lewis' technology.
Lewis, president of Burbank, Calif.-based MuSonix, Ltd., stated that he was very satisfied with the case's outcome. "Having settled this dispute, we are now in a position to aggressively pursue other infringers," he added, saying that he expects to announce additional license agreements, and/or lawsuits, shortly.
Four other manufacturers currently license the Lewis coding system, which renders the radio unusable if stolen. They include Clarion, Shintom (supplier to Audiovox and Toshiba), plus two other unnamed manufacturers of OEM radios.
