BLACK HAWK SEES A TOMMYKNOCKER
BLACK HAWK SEES A TOMMYKNOCKER BLACK HAWK, Colo., Nov. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Miners of yesteryear
believed that a mythical troll like ghost known as a Tommyknocker played tricks and teased them by blowing out their candles and hiding tools. The miners also believed that the Tommyknocker was responsible for helping them find gold and for protecting them from impending disaster. Once again the Tommyknocker is up to his old tricks. This time, however, he will be delighting and teasing visitors to Black Hawk in the form of the TOMMYKNOCKER CASINO, and the gold is real!
On Oct. 31 Semple, Brown and Roberts, Architects and Engineers of Denver, presented plans for the three story TOMMYKNOCKER CASINO to the Historic Review Committee for the City of Black Hawk on behalf of New Allied Development Corp. Approximately 35,000 of the 100,000 square foot facility will be used for the gaming casino and will contain approximately 1,200 slot machines, 40 Black Jack tables and 15 Poker tables. The remaining area will include a 150 seat coffee shop, a 350 seat buffet restaurant, a 90 seat gourmet restaurant overlooking a creek with outside dining in the summer and a 300 seat lounge area featuring continuous live entertainment from 8 a.m to 2 a.m. An on- site parking facility for approximately 400 cars will also be constructed. The casino will employ approximately 750 people. A management agreement with a major casino operator will be announced in the near future. The estimated cost for the TOMMYKNOCKER CASINO is approximately $30 million. Construction is expected to begin prior to the end of the year if weather permits. -0- 11/12/91 R /CONTACT: Erica Hull of New Allied Development, 303-861-4646/ CO: New Allied Development Corp.
