BLACK & DECKER SELLS CORBIN RUSSWIN

 TOWSON, Md., Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The Black & Decker Corporation (NYSE: BDK) announced today that it has sold its Corbin Russwin Architectural Hardware business to Williams Holdings PLC, owner of Yale locks, for $80 million.
 Black & Decker will continue to own and operate its Kwikset lock business in North America as well as DOM, NEMEF, and Corbin Co. in Europe. Kwikset is the largest producer of residential locksets in the world.
 Commenting on the transaction, Nolan D. Archibald, chairman and chief executive officer, stated, "The sale of Corbin Russwin allows us to focus our attention on the segment of the security hardware business that is of the greatest importance to us, while finding a good home for the customers and employees of Corbin Russwin with Williams Holdings."
 Black & Decker is a global marketer and manufacturer of quality products used in an around the home and for commercial applications and a major supplier of information systems and services to government and commercial clients.
