BIZMART OPENS FOUR NEW SUPERSTORES EXTON, Pa., April 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Intelligent Electronics Inc.
(NASDAQ-NMS: INEL) expanded its base of large-format BizMart supercenters by four over the weekend as the company conducted grand openings in Redwood City, Concord and Santa Rosa, Calif.; and Mesa, Ariz.
The Redwood City, Concord and Mesa stores represent the chain's new megacenter concept, offering customers name-brand products in a 30,000- square-foot shopping environment which combines a computer superstore and an office products superstore under one roof. The addition of these new locations brings the total BizMart store count to 79, with locations in 13 states and 34 markets. According to James Berk, president and chief executive officer of Intelligent's Consumer Retail Group, "Customers have been responding enthusiastically to our focus on total office productivity. They enjoy the ability to purchase a full selection of products and services for the office, whether for work or home." Berk said the new locations complement and strengthen the company's existing store base in the San Francisco and Phoenix markets. BizMart now operates 12 supercenters in California and eight in Arizona. BizMarts' spring expansion plans include the addition of approximately six new megacenters in both existing and new markets.
