BIOMEDICAL DYNAMICS REPORTS RECORD FIRST QUARTER 1992
 SALES AND EARNINGS PERFORMANCE
BURNSVILLE, Minn., April 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Biomedical Dynamics (NASDAQ: BMDC) announced today that it achieved record sales and earnings in the first quarter of 1992. Net sales for the first quarter ending March 31, 1992 were $2,390,894, compared to $1,882,582 in the prior year's first quarter, an increase of 27 percent. Net income for the first quarter was $347,403 or $.07 per share compared with net income of $168,247, or $.04 per share during the prior year's first quarter.
Joseph A. Marino, president of Biomedical Dynamics, stated that, "the increase in sales and earnings is the result of the continued growth of our Infusable(R) disposable pressure infusor and the CUFF- ABLE(R) blood pressure cuff product lines. The increase in earnings is the result of operating expenses increasing only 3.8 percent over the prior year's quarter while sales increased 27 percent."
On Thursday, April 16, 1992, the shareholders of Biomedical Dynamics will meet to vote on the previously announced merger of Biomedical Dynamics into a wholly owned subsidiary of Vital Signs, Inc. Marino stated that "when the merger is completed, we are convinced that the addition of Vital Signs' capital, sales force and business acumen to our product lines will produce a very powerful combination." As shareholders of the combined company, Biomedical Dynamics' shareholders should benefit substantially from this transaction.
Biomedical Dynamics, located in Burnsville, is engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of medical products designed to meet the needs of the critical care hospital marketplace.
Biomedical Dynamics' common stock is traded on the national over- the-counter market and is quoted on the NASDAQ system under the symbol of BMDC.
