BIOJECT EXPANDS PHYSICIAN OFFICE DISTRIBUTION WITH TAYLOR MEDICAL

PORTLAND, Ore., Oct. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Bioject Inc., (NASDAQ: BJCT) announced today it has signed an agreement with Beaumont, Texas,-based Taylor Medical Inc. for distribution to office-based physicians of the Biojector(R) 2000 Jet Injection System for needle-free drug delivery.
Taylor Medical's sales force of 215 professionals reaches physicians in 23 states stretching from southern California, through the southwest, including Texas, the midwest and New England. Taylor sales totaled $135 million in 1993.
"Our agreement with Taylor is an important element in our overall sales and marketing plan," commented Carl Wilcox, Bioject's president and chief executive officer.
Bioject introduced the Biojector 2000 and its disposable medication syringes earlier this year. The Biojector jet injection system delivers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections of medication without using a needle-syringe. By eliminating the use of needles on patients and, accordingly, contaminated needles, the Biojector 2000 System can help prevent needlestick injuries that can transmit life-threatening bloodborne pathogens such as HIV and hepatitis B.
