BIO-MANUFACTURING ANNOUNCES 1991 EARNINGS

 BIO-MANUFACTURING ANNOUNCES 1991 EARNINGS
 MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Bio-Manufacturing, Inc. is an

original equipment manufacturer (OEM) which produces capsule-modifying mammary prostheses for implantation in aesthetic and reconstructive surgery.
Bio-Manufacturing, Inc. announced sales and profits for its fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 1991. Net revenues for the year ended Sept. 30, 1991, were $3,339,611 compared to $1,763,815 for the year ended Sept. 30, 1990. Net profit for the year ended Sept. 30, 1991, was $177,337 compared to a net loss of $65,965 for the year ended Sept. 30, 1990. The company attributes the increase in sales and net profit to its exclusive manufacturing contract with Bioplasty, Inc. However, this trend is not expected to continue into 1992 due to the many adverse challenges directed at the mammary implant market.
In response to the Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) intense scrutiny of silicone gel filled implants, the resulting negative publicity and finally the requested, and complied with, FDA moratorium on the sale of silicone implants, a significant decline in revenues for 1992 is expected. In anticipation of this decline, the company has reduced its number of employees form approximately 94, prior to the unrest, to its current level of 12. It is not expected that the company will return to its former level of employment or production any time in the near future.
Bio-Manufacturing, Inc. and Bioplasty, Inc. are nearing the completion of a previously announced merger. The stockholders record date, as reported earlier, is anticipated to be 30 days prior to the shareholders meeting. The meeting is tentatively being scheduled for late February or early March of 1992.
Bio-Manufacturing, Inc. is currently traded on the local over-the- counter market (white sheets).
