BILL GATES DEMONSTRATES POINT CONTROL'S SMARTCAM IN SPEECH POSITIONING WINDOWS NT AT COMDEX

 LAS VEGAS, Nov. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Donning a hardhat with the Point Control logo, Microsoft chairman Bill Gates today demonstrated the power of Point Control's SmartCAM(R) products during his Comdex speech on the role of Windows NT in manufacturing and engineering, the company announced. During Gates' address, SmartCAM Advanced 3-D Machining was employed to machine the Windows logo in a block of laminated plastic.
 SmartCAM Advanced 3-D Machining Version 4, which Point Control expects to ship in January, is one of the first computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software products to run on Windows NT. It is compatible with both PC Windows and Windows NT.
 "Adapting SmartCAM to Windows NT significantly advances our goal of providing our customers the most integrated manufacturing environment possible," said Jerry Blakely, president of Point Control Co. "Point Control is committed to helping our customers institute concurrent engineering of product and process. Widespread acceptance of Windows NT will be critical to our success."
