BIKER KILLED IN SMASH WITH LORRY.

A BIKER has been killed in a crash with a lorry.

Brian Archbold, 39, from Waterloo was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene in School Lane on Prescot, at Junction 4 of the M57.

Collision investigators from the Roads Policing Unit were continuing to investigate the incident which took place at 12.30pm yesterday.

After the crash, the road was closed, along with Moorgate Lane and the southbound exit slip road and the northbound entry slip road of Junction 4. The roads reopened at around 3pm.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Emergency services attended and found the rider of the bike, a 39-year-old man, with serious injuries.

"Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers have now named the man as Brian Archbold from the Waterloo area." ? Witnesses should call 0151 777 5747.
