 BIG THREE AUTOMAKERS FORM U.S. COUNCIL FOR AUTOMOTIVE RESEARCH;
 WILL ANNOUNCE NEW CONSORTIUM JUNE 8
 Chrysler Corporation, Ford Motor Company and General Motors Corporation will formally announce the formation of the United States Council for Automotive Research (USCAR) and discuss their newest consortium under the USCAR "umbrella" in a June 8 news conference in Dearborn, Mich.
 Representatives from the automakers will include Chrysler Corporation's Francois Castaing, vice president of Vehicle Engineering; Ford Motor Company's John McTague, vice president of Technical Affairs; and General Motors' Gary Dickinson, vice president and group executive- Technical Affairs Staff.
 Joining the engineering leaders will be Michigan's U.S. Sens. Donald Riegle and Carl Levin and the EPA's director of car and truck emissions regulations Richard Wilson.
 In addition, representatives from each of the seven current consortia will be available for interview regarding the progress of their collaborative efforts.
 Location and time of the news conference:
 -- Monday, June 8
 -- 11 a.m.-noon news conference
 -- noon-1 p.m. lunch and interview opportunities
 -- USCAR Headquarters
 Fairlane Plaza South
 (Immediately west of the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Hubbard and Southfield Freeway. Parking is available on the upper level of the Fairlane Plaza South parking garage at the west end of the building. To get to USCAR Headquarters, take the garage elevators down to the first floor. USCAR representatives will be on hand to provide further directions.)
 Parking for television news trucks will be available immediately in front of the USCAR Headquarters.
