Byline: Tom Hewson

MEET Hamad Al Humaidhan, the ten-year-old artist whose work has earned him grand comparisons to the late great Spaniard Pablo Picasso.

Hamad has quickly gained international acclaim with his paintings, and now his latest collection is set to be exclusively hosted in Sutton Coldfield, starting tomorrow at the Artifex Gallery beat off several contenders to secure the exhibition of Hamad's work, comprising of 15 original paintings.

Nigel Bates, Director of the Artifex Gallery, hailed Hamad's art: "Young talent like this is very rare. We believe that Hamad is an exceptional talent and we are proud to be able to host this young artist's next collection."

Orginally from Kuwait, Hamad's talent began to flourish when his family moved to Bath and his father, Waleen Al Humaidhan found a portrait of Cristiano Ronaldo he'd painted.

Waleen has praised his son's new found success: "Once I realised how good I believed Hamad was, I rushed out to buy more canvases and acrylics." The exhibition runs until Thursday.
