BIG BOY RESTAURANT JOINS DETROIT SPORTS COMMISSION IN FRIENDSHIP SERIES

 WARREN, Mich., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, Aug. 19, at 11:30 a.m., the Elias Brothers Big Boy restaurant in the Renaissance Center will host a luncheon for 70 Japanese and Detroit youths. The children are participating in the Detroit Sports Commission's (DSC) Friendship Series and will play a total of three baseball games in Detroit and Windsor this week. Members of the visiting team are from Toyota City, Japan, Detroit's sister city.
 Founded in 1992, the DSC was formed to rejuvenate the sports interest in Detroit as well as stimulate the local economy.
 The series of three games will begin on Thursday, Aug. 19, at 5 p.m. at Windsor Stadium; Friday, Aug. 20, 2:30 p.m. at Belle Isle; and the final game on Saturday, Aug. 21, 9:30 a.m. at Belle Isle will be aired on PASS. There is no admission charge and the public is encouraged to attend.

 The Friendship Series is the first event to be sponsored by the DSC.
