BIG BIRD '93 EXERCISE AT HARTSFIELD

 ATLANTA, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport, voted the "Best Airport in North America for Five Years" will be conducting emergency operation procedures and exercises on Saturday, Oct. 9 at the airport.
 "Big Bird '93" will simulate an aircraft disaster with volunteers acting as "crash victims" and survivors.
 The exercise scenarios will attempt to accurately reflect threats facing the Hartsfield Atlanta Airport family and communities and the traveling public.
 "Big Bird is a very vital and necessary part of the training process at the airport," said Ed Small, deputy director of Training/Exercises at the Atlanta-Fulton Emergency Management Agency. "We have to be able to exercise our set procedures to make sure the people know how to react in case there is an actual emergency."
 The exercises will involve assistance from Emergency Management Agencies from surrounding cities and counties, local and federal agencies as well as the American Red Cross.
