BIEBER, MARSHALL ANNOUNCE RATIFICATION OF NEW UAW-CHRYSLER AGREEMENTS

DETROIT, Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- UAW President Owen Bieber and Vice President Stan Marshall, director of the UAW Chrysler Department, announced that UAW members at Chrysler (NYSE: C) voted overwhelmingly by an overall margin of 74 percent to ratify new three-year agreements, covering hourly and salaried workers.
"Our members had faith in their union negotiating team, and those negotiators repaid that faith by fashioning a set of contracts that meets the pattern agreement set at Ford and also addresses other specific areas of concern to Chrysler workers," said Bieber and Marshall. "It was a team effort that resulted in an outstanding agreement."
The new set of contracts covers approximately 55,000 UAW-represented hourly workers and 5,000 UAW-represented salaried workers at Chrysler in the United States.
