BICK ELECTED CHAIRMAN OF BOARD, KAUFMAN ELECTED BOARD MEMBER OF BIOPOOL

 VENTURA, Calif., July 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Biopool International Inc. (NASDAQ: BIPL) today announced that Michael D. Bick, Ph.D., chief executive officer, has been elected to the additional post of chairman of the board, and Lewis J. Kaufman has been elected a director.
 Bick, 48, has served as chief executive officer of Biopool since August 1991. In his role as chairman, Bick succeeds Mats Ranby, Ph.D., who will remain on the board of directors and continue in his role as president of Biopool AB, the company's subsidiary based in Sweden.
 Kaufman, 60, succeeds James D. Johnson, Ph.D., who did not stand for re-election.
 Kaufman is president of L.J. Kaufman & Co. Inc., a financial advisory firm in Los Angeles. He previously was a general manager of Goldman, Sachs & Co., where he was associated for 17 years, and was affiliated with Morgan Stanley & Co., from 1985-1988.
 Founded in 1987, Biopool develops, manufactures and markets a full range of test kits to assess and diagnose disorders of blood coagulation, fibrinolysis, platelet function and the vascular system, as well as test kits to determine thrombotic risk factors. The company's products are sold to hospitals and clinical laboratories worldwide.
