Britain's Got Talentstar Susan Boyle admitted she felt like a "freak show" before missing The Champions.

The singer, 58, reflected on how her television experience was "suffocating" and "difficult to come to terms with" when she appeared on the third series of Britain's Got Talent as a contestant.

Susan recalled how everyone was "laughing" at her because of her "crazy hair" and her "bad choice in clothes" after she stepped out on stage.

She toldThe Irish Mirror: "It felt quite suffocating, almost as though I was an act in a freak show, and that hurt. It was incredibly difficult to come to terms with for a time, but the positives have far outweighed the negatives."

Susan added: "Everyone was laughing at me; they wondered who this daft woman with the crazy hair was... and I had made a bad choice in clothes, so no-one had high expectations...

"Suddenly, everything you do is watched and picked apart."

The songstress sent shockwaves through the audience when she belted out the track I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables.

Her candid interview comes as she missed her slot on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions.

Whispers said Susan was unable to grace our screens once again because of her busy schedule.

It was claimed 2011 winner Jai MacDowall would step up to the job to fill Susan's shoes on the show.

A source toldThe Sun: "They didn't want to be short of contestants and Susan Boyle was looking unlikely to confirm her appearance."

Simon Cowelltouched on the singer's absence from the show as he claimed he didn't think he should have done it this year.
