BG&E TO PLANT TREES IN HAMPSTEAD AND MANCHESTER
Baltimore Gas and Electric (NYSE: BGE) joins Carroll County in

celebrating Arbor Day by participating in two tree planting events in April. Both events will offer excellent visual and photographic opportunities.
On Wednesday, April 1, tree planting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Pool and a 12:30 p.m. ceremony will be held at Hampstead Town Hall. BG&E is donating approximately 50 trees as a result of its involvement in Maryland's Tree-mendous Tree Planting Program. Dogwoods, red maples, honey locusts, white ashes, Norway maples and hornbeams will be planted at various sites in Hampstead.
The second event is scheduled for Saturday, April 4. Tree planting will begin at 9 a.m. and a ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at the Manchester Town Hall. BG&E will be planting 57 zelkova trees on Main Street to replace existing decaying trees. The zelkova, selected because it can co-exist with power lines, does not occur naturally in the United States. It was selected by Penn State University's Municipal Tree Restoration Program through a joint effort with BG&E. Rain date is April 11.
BG&E volunteers as well as community volunteers will participate in the planting.
