 BFGOODRICH AEROSPACE CERTIFIED AS SUPPLIER
FOR FUEL QUANTITY INDICATION SYSTEM ON BOEING 767
VERGENNES, Vt., June 22 /PRNewswire/ -- The Simmonds Precision unit of BFGoodrich Aerospace has been certified as the supplier for the fuel quantity indication system on the Boeing 767. The first Simmonds-equipped 767 was delivered to American Airlines on May 22.
The new system features enhancements to accuracy and reliability as well as a processor with extensive built-in fault detection. This continuously monitors the fuel measurement system and associated fuel components, and displays appropriate information in plain English.
A similar system was certified for the B-757 in July 1991 and is now standard equipment on new production aircraft. The new fuel systems are available as retrofit equipment on earlier aircraft of both types.
Simmonds Precision, which last year celebrated 50 years of service to the aircraft industry, joined BFGoodrich Aerospace in 1990.
BFGoodrich Aerospace is a broad-based supplier of components and services including aircraft wheels and brakes, evacuation systems, engine electrical and fuel systems, flight instruments and avionics, airport and aircraft lighting systems, and maintenance, repair and overhaul services. It is a division of the BFGoodrich Company (NYSE: GR); both are headquartered in Akron, Ohio.
