BEVAN'S HEAVEN.

Byline: BEV BEVAN

JOY DIVISION / NEW ORDER Total (Rhino) * HERE'S an 18-track compilation of Joy Division, and the band that they merged into, New Order.

Joy Division had only one hit single of relevance, Love Will Tear Us Apart in 1980, but found more success in the UK album charts with three top tens.

New Order comprised of the three members of Joy Division - Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris - plus Gillian Gilbert.

Between 1983 and 1993 this Mancunian quartet notched up an impressive seven top ten singles, including the 1990 chart topper, World In Motion.

There were eight top ten albums, too, including number ones in 1989 with Technique and in 1993 with Republic.

As well as all of the hit singles here there's a bonus, previously unreleased track on this collection - the very commercial sounding Hellbent.

BRENDA AND THE TABULATIONS The Singles Collection (Jamie) * BRENDA and the Tabulations, consisting of Brenda Peyton, Maurice Coates, James Rucher and Eddie Jackson, were counsellors at a Philadelphia playground and entertained the kids by singing to them.

The owner of Dionn Records, Gelda Woods, heard them whilst driving by and offered them an audition.

This compilation includes hits Dry Your Eyes, Stay Together Young Lovers, Who's Loving You, Just Once In A Lifetime, When You're Gone and Baby You're So Right For Me.
