BESTOP AWARDED NEXT GENERATION JEEP WRANGLER PROGRAM

 BROOMFIELD, Colo., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Bestop Inc. (NASDAQ: BTOP) announced today that it has been selected by Chrysler Corp. to be the sole supplier of the new convertible top for the next generation Jeep Wrangler. Bestop is the sole supplier of OEM soft tops to Chrysler for the current Jeep Wrangler model. Soft top production for the current Jeep Wrangler model represented 26 percent of Bestop's sales through the first three quarters of 1993. Bestop was awarded this new business based on successful completion of a design and bidding competition.
 "Clearly, this business award is extremely important to Bestop. Technologically, this product will represent a major step forward in the design of sport utility vehicle convertible tops. In addition, this award represents a major step toward solidifying our long-term relationship with Chrysler Corporation," said Richard Sabourin, president and chief executive officer.
 Bestop is the leading designer and manufacturer in North America of automotive soft tops and accessories for small sport utility vehicles. The company's automotive customers include: Chrysler, General Motors, CAMI (a General Motors/Suzuki joint venture), American Suzuki, Suzuki Canada, Suzuki Motors (Japan), Daihatsu (Japan), Santana (a 66 percent equity owned Suzuki venture in Spain), IBC Vehicles (a General Motors/Isuzu joint venture), and Kia Motors (Korea).
