BEST WESTERN TO BE FIRST WORLDWIDE HOTEL DISTRIBUTOR OF AT&T TELETICKETS

BERLIN, March 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Best Western International Inc. and AT&T today announced that the global hotel chain will become the first worldwide hotel industry distributor of the AT&T TeleTicket(SM) Service, a prepaid information and calling service.
Introduced last May, AT&T TeleTicket Service is available in 10 languages and enables visitors to the United States to pre-pay for weather reports, news updates, exchange rate information and interpretation services as well as for telephone calls within the United States and from the United States to 190 countries around the world.
The announcement was made at the Internationale Tourismus Boerse (ITB) in Berlin, where representatives of Best Western International said it will begin distributing AT&T's TeleTicket Service within Europe immediately, through the chain's North American Sales Office in Brussels. Plans also call for Best Western to dispense AT&T TeleTickets to affiliate offices worldwide for distribution to the travel trade and customers in the 47 countries in which Best Western operates.
"We are delighted to be able to offer our customers a service like AT&T TeleTicket," said John McGhee, Best Western's director of worldwide sales. "Anyone who has tried has tried to place a telephone call or get information in another country for the first time knows how frustrating it can be-both understanding the language and the telephone system. To make this task easier, we are working together to make AT&T TeleTickets more readily available to visitors staying at Best Westerns."
To access services available via the AT&T TeleTicket Service, visitors to the United States may call the toll-free number printed on the back of each ticket. A recorded message in the language printed on the ticket will guide the caller through the information call or telephone call. Instructions are also printed on the back of each AT&T TeleTicket. If the customer needs additional instructions, they can speak directly with a customer representative, 24 hours a day, in one of the 10 languages in which AT&T TeleTickets are available: English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese, Korean and Mandarin.
In addition to selling AT&T TeleTickets outside the United States, McGhee announced that select Best Western properties in key U.S. gateway cities will sell them at their front desks or through their concierge desks. The AT&T Teletickets are available in denominations of 10, 25 or 50 units. Best Western's retail price per unit will be approximately $.60.
McGhee noted that the AT&T TeleTicket distribution agreement is just one element of an enhanced marketing relationship between Best Western and AT&T.
Best Western is also exploring participation in AT&T's International Hotel Program, under which AT&T Direct Services are promoted by participating properties. AT&T Direct gives travelers from the United States direct access to AT&T services, such as USA Direct(R) Service when traveling abroad.
"AT&T and Best Western are working in tandem to ensure that travelers worldwide will have easier access to long distance calling services," said McGhee.
