BEST WESTERN ENTERS ST. THOMAS

PHOENIX, Aug. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- The 90-room Best Western Emerald Beach Resort marks Best Western's first property on St. Thomas and the seventh hotel in the Caribbean to join Best Western International.
"This elegant beach-front resort exemplifies Best Western's strategy of selective growth in the islands and brings the company's room count in the Caribbean to 870," stated Best Western's President and Chief Executive Officer Ronald A. Evans. "The resort is also one of the 82 hotels that Best Western has added in North America during the last six months," he added.
Jean-Pierre Kling, manager of the Emerald Beach Resort, said, "My successful experience as a former manager at another Best Western hotel prompted me to recommend Best Western membership for this beautiful resort. The Best Western name is known throughout the world, and it generates business."
The only resort on St. Thomas with all guest rooms directly on the beach, the three-floor Best Western Emerald Beach Resort features large private balconies overlooking the water. Each room is equipped with cable television, safes, direct dial telephones and hair dryers. Other features include marble baths, wet bars and mini-bars.
Lush tropical gardens and fountains envelope this secluded resort. Guests enjoy the seaside swimming pool which is fed by waterfalls, seasonal live entertainment, tennis courts, gift shop and a water sports center. Downtown duty-free shopping is just two miles away. Palms, the resort's beachfront restaurant, serves gourmet cuisine and offers a relaxed dining experience.
