 BERUBE ELECTED TO MONTANA POWER BOARD
 BUTTE, Mont., Dec. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Daniel T. Berube, president


and chief executive officer of Entech Inc., has been elected to the Montana Power Co. (MPC) (NYSE: MTP) board of directors, effective Jan. 1, the company said today.
 Berube has been designated as chief executive officer of MPC effective Jan. 1. Paul Schmechel, who has been MPC's chief executive officer since May 1983, will continue as chairman until his announced retirement June 30 at age 65.
 "This appointment recognizes Berube's move from his duties as head of Entech to chief executive officer of The Montana Power Co.," said John J. Burke, MPC's vice chairman, in announcing Berube's election.
