 BERTIL T. NILSSON ELECTED SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT
 NEW YORK, Aug. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The board of directors of ITT


Corporation (NYSE: ITT) has elected Bertil T. Nilsson a senior vice president, it was announced today by Rand V. Araskog, chairman, president and chief executive. Nilsson continues as president of ITT Fluid Technology Corporation, a position he has held since 1991. Effective Sept. 1, Nilsson also becomes chief executive officer of ITT Fluid Technology succeeding Raymond Gill who retires. In this capacity, Nilsson reports to Travis Engen, executive vice president of ITT.
 Nilsson began his business career with ITT Flygt in 1955 after graduation from the Technical University in Stockholm, Sweden. He rose through a succession of technical and general management positions with Flygt, being appointed managing director of that Sweden-based company in 1976. In 1988 he became president of ITT Flygt AB in Solna, Sweden and a vice president of ITT Corporation.
 ITT Fluid Technology Corporation, with sales of over $1 billion, is a leader in the design, production, sale and service of pumps, valves, heat exchangers, controls and instruments that move, control, and measure fluids in a broad array of markets. With its world Headquarters in Midland Park, N.J., this ITT business employs 8,500 people, with 19 main manufacturing locations and active representation in more than 100 countries.
