 BERNARD ROBERTSON ELECTED CHRYSLER VICE PRESIDENT
 HIGHLAND PARK, Mich., Feb. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- The Chrysler Board of


Directors today elected Bernard I. Robertson as Vice President- Jeep(R)/Truck Engineering and General Manager-Jeep/Truck Operations.
 At the same time, Chrysler President Robert A. Lutz announced a move designed to consolidate and strengthen the company's platform concept.
 Francois J. Castaing, Vice President-Vehicle Engineering, continues to be responsible for the design, development and implementation of all vehicle engineering programs. He also will focus even greater attention to the development of vehicle technology including electric and alternative fuel vehicles.
 Robertson, who will be responsible for all aspects of Jeep/Truck engineering and platform operations, will report to Castaing on matters relating to Jeep/Truck Engineering and to Lutz on Jeep/Truck platform operations matters.
 Robertson, 49, had been General Manager Jeep and Truck Platform Engineering since February 1989.
 He joined Chrysler in his native England in 1965 as a Senior Engineer in what was then Chrysler United Kingdom. He came to the United States in 1977 as Manager of Product Engineering at the Lynch Road Assembly Plant in Detroit.
 Since then he has held a number of executive positions including Director-Product Strategy Planning, Director-Power Train Engineering and Chief Engineer-Power Train Systems.
 Robertson holds an M.B.A. from Michigan State University, an M.A.E. from Chrysler Institute, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan, and Bachelor and Master of Mechanical Sciences degrees from Cambridge University in England.
 He served as a lieutenant in the British Royal Artillery from 1962 to 1965.
 He lives in Bingham Farms, Mich.
