BERKLEY MEDICAL FACILITY TO CREATE 110 NEW FAYETTE COUNTY JOBS

UNIONTOWN, Pa., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- A new industrial facility that will provide 110 new jobs in Fayette County over the next three years was announced today by the Fayette County commissioners.
The new 145,000-sq. ft. manufacturing and warehouse facility will house Berkley Medical Resources in the Fairchance Industrial Park. Berkley will produce hospital and industrial wiping cloths at the facility.
More than $5 million in financing for the new facility will come from a wide array of private and public resources led by Pittsburgh National Bank, a PNC (NYSE: PNC) bank, and the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority through the Governor's Response Team. Others involved include Fay-Penn Industrial Development Corp., the Greater Uniontown Industrial Fund and Fayette County.
County Commissioner Chairman Fred L. Lebder also praised the involvement of state Sen. J. William Lincoln (D-Fayette), state Rep. Rich Kasunic (D-Fayette) and other area legislators.
Construction on the new site has begun and is scheduled for completion by May 15.
Berkley Medical Resources President John Berkley said, "Through our Michael Berkowitz Company unit, we've been involved in Fayette County for over 50 years. Among the county's advantages are an experienced and willing workforce and a cooperative spirit between state, county and private resources."
"The Berkley Medical facility represents positive news for Fayette County," said Lebder. "Not only will it provide new jobs, but critical manufacturing jobs."
Michael Krajovic, executive director of Fay-Penn Industrial Development Corp., noted that Berkley Medical will become the first tenant in the Fairchance Industrial Park.
John Malone, vice president, metropolitan commercial banking, of Pittsburgh National, said, "For Pittsburgh National, financing this project represents not only a business opportunity but also a commitment to invest in the communities we serve."
