BEMIS ELECTS NEW DIRECTOR

 MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- At its meeting today, the Bemis Company (NYSE: BMS) board of directors elected a new director, Winslow H. Buxton, 54, chairman, president and CEO of Pentair, Inc., St. Paul, Minn. A 1961 graduate of the University of Washington with a bachelor of science degree in Chemical Engineering, Buxton has held several management positions in industrial manufacturing including the paper industry.
 Bemis Company is a major supplier of flexible packaging and specialty coated graphics products. Bemis common stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange.
