BELLSOUTH ELECTS MAULDIN CFO; REDDERSEN, FEIDLER NAMED TO NEW POSITIONS

 ATLANTA, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- BellSouth Corporation (NYSE: BLS) announced that Earle Mauldin has been elected executive vice president and chief financial officer.
 The company also announced that William F. Reddersen was elected senior vice president-Broadband Strategies and Mark L. Fiedler was elected vice president-Corporate Development.
 Mauldin, 52, assumes his new duties from the position of group president-Mobile Systems for BellSouth. His 29-year career with BellSouth includes extensive experience in finance as well as operations.
 BellSouth announced last November that Harvey R. Holding would retire as vice chairman of the board-Finance & Administration in the summer of 1993. Mauldin assumes Holding's financial responsibilities as CFO and will report to William O. McCoy, BellSouth's vice chairman. Stan Hamm, 50, currently president-BellSouth Cellular, will succeed Mauldin as group president-Mobile Systems.
 Reddersen, 45, will move into a new position at BellSouth Corporation as senior vice president-Broadband Strategies. A 24-year telecommunications veteran, Reddersen had been president of BellSouth Business Systems in the company's BellSouth Telecommunications subsidiary.
 Fiedler, 37, is being promoted from the position of director- Strategic Transactions.
 BellSouth is an international telecommunications holding company. Its subsidiaries offer local telephone service in nine southeastern states and mobile communications services worldwide, provide advertising and publishing services, and market and maintain stand-alone and fully integrated communications systems.
