BELLSOUTH AND THE MIAMI EXPORT DIRECTORY HONOR COMMUNITY'S LEADING BUSINESS AND TRADE ORGANIZATIONS WITH 1992 INTERNATIONAL VISION AWARD
 MIAMI, July 24 /PRNewswire/ -- BellSouth Advertising & Publishing Corporation (BAPCO) will honor eight of South Florida's top business and trade organizations which were instrumental in the development and launch of the Miami Export Directory. The presentation will take place on Tuesday, July 28, during a cocktail reception at Victor's Cafe.
 Donald J. Perozzi, president of BAPCO, will present the 1992 International Vision Award to the following honorees:
 -- The Beacon Council -- Miami/Dade County's economic development
 agency and catalyst for business attraction, retention and
 expansion;
 -- CAMACOL -- Miami's Latin Chamber of Commerce has been a pioneer
 in promoting business between South Florida and Latin America;
 -- City of Miami International Trade Board -- trade experts from
 both the private and public sectors who work to create a positive
 local business climate for international trade;
 -- Florida Department of Commerce -- the department's new Division
 of International Trade and Development represents the local
 government's commitment to enhancing Miami's role as a conduit
 for international business;
 -- Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce -- an active association of
 businesses and professionals who work to improve our community
 and promote it as a principal marketing feature for other
 business and trade groups;
 -- The Miami Free Zone -- Miami is a "free zone" distinct from
 competitors, offering exhibition areas and two wholesale
 shopping centers in addition to traditional free zone advantages;
 -- U.S. Department of Commerce -- the federal government's
 commitment to U.S. exporters is evidenced by the U.S. Foreign
 and Commercial Service's efforts to assist U.S. companies
 compete overseas;
 -- The World Trade Center -- the center fosters and enhances
 business opportunities for foreign firms, individuals and
 organizations engaged in international trade, finance,
 investments and service industries.
 According to Perozzi, these organizations deserve recognition for their vision of Miami as an international city and for their efforts to strengthen the business and communication ties between Greater Miami and Latin America.
 "Our honorees recognized the potential and significance of the Miami Export Directory. Through their assistance and support, BellSouth Advertising & Publishing Corporation's vision of the directory as an important tool in streamlining the process of doing business on an international scale became a reality," said Perozzi.
 The Miami Export Directory was launched in October of 1991 and was designed to enhance Miami's export trade with Latin America and the Caribbean. The directory helps local exporters target potential customers otherwise unreachable through ordinary forms of advertising. At the same time, Latin American and Caribbean importers will gain a comprehensive industry source that is created especially with them in mind.
 "Knowing that Miami has become the gateway to increased Latin American and Caribbean trade, we are committed to helping our customers tap into new markets. Increased revenue for Miami businesses fuels economic growth for the entire community-wide; and that's the kind of business climate BellSouth wants to promote," said Patty Craven, general manager of sales, South Florida Region for BellSouth.
 Given the success and acceptance of the Miami Export Directory and the enhancements to the book already in the works, BellSouth Advertising & Publishing Corporation is considering expanding the product.
