BELL OF PENNSYLVANIA OFFERS LAST-MINUTE GIFT IDEAS

PITTSBURGH, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- It's almost Christmas, and you can bet plenty of people are scurrying about for last-minute gifts.
Bell of Pennsylvania might have just what Santa ordered -- with some built-in benefits. These gifts can be purchased at the last minute, they are reasonably priced and they can be paid for over time.
Moreover, most require no wrapping and they can be ordered over the phone.
So if you're gift-frantic, pull out your gift list. Bell of Pennsylvania might have just what you need to put the merry back in Christmas:
 -- Extra phone line:
That roommate would love this. So would your teenager (and maybe you'd be able to use the phone once in a while.)
 -- Answer call:
Turns your existing telephone into a personal messaging center. Your messages are stored in a "mailbox" which can be accessed from any touch tone phone. And you can have mailboxes for up to eight family members. Answer Call even takes messages while you're on the phone. Rates start at $6.50 per month.
 -- Call Waiting:
Need to keep your telephone lines open? Call Waiting lets you know if another call is coming through while you're on the phone. It lets you put the first call on hold while answering the second. Costs $3.20 per month.
 -- Bell Atlantic IQ(R) Card:
A great incentive for kids to call home. Just like your own IQ card, but a restricted version that only allows them to charge calls when they call home. No charge for the card. Pay for the calls on your monthly bill, including a nominal charge for card usage.
 -- Bell Atlantic Mobile Phones:
From a basic car phone which enhances your spouse's safety on the road to a pocket-sized portable model you can use almost anywhere, Bell Atlantic Mobile offers a variety of cellular phones, pagers and accessories. Service packages to fit your needs.
 -- Return Call:
Just missed a call? Return Call lets you find out quickly who was trying to reach you. Just press star-69, and your telephone automatically dials the number back. If that line is busy, Return Call continues trying to return the call for up to 30 minutes. Costs $4 per month.
 -- Three-Way Calling:
Need to talk to two different people at two separate locations at the same time? Three-Way Calling connects all three. Costs $3 per month.
 -- Speed Calling:
Offers the convenience of reaching frequently-called local or long-distance phone numbers by dialing only one or two digits. Comes in two sizes: one stores eight numbers ($1.50 per month), the other 30 numbers ($2.25 per month).
 -- Home Intercom:
Lets you communicate with others in your house without traipsing from room to room or raising your voice. Home Intercom turns your telephone extensions into an intercom system. Costs $2.25 per month.
 -- Ultra Forward(R) service:
Need to have your calls forwarded, but don't know where you'll be? Ultra Forward service lets you activate Call Forwarding from any touch tone phone. Costs $4 per month.
 -- Identa Ring(R) service:
Lets you know if the call's for you before you pick up the phone. Think of it! Identa Ring service allows up to three numbers to be shared on the same telephone line, each with a distinctive ring. Costs $4.50 per month.
 -- Repeat Call:
You're calling your baby-sitter and you keep getting a busy signal, and you absolutely must reach her. Let Repeat Call do the dialing for you while you get on with other chores. Repeat call redials the busy number automatically, even while you make or receive other calls. The service will try to get through for up to 30 minutes and signal you with a special ring when the line become free. Costs $3 per month.
 -- Call Block:
Block unwanted calls from as many as six phone numbers -- including the number of the last incoming call -- even if you don't know what those numbers are. You won't even hear a ring, and the caller will hear a message that says you're not available. Think of it! Costs $5 per month.
To order these services, simply call your local Bell of Pennsylvania business office. The number is in the front or your telephone directory or on you telephone bill.
