BELL OF PENNSYLVANIA ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR HOLIDAY SERVICE

BELL OF PENNSYLVANIA ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR HOLIDAY SERVICE
PITTSBURGH, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Santa Claus isn't the only one who will be busy on Christmas.
Bell of Pennsylvania said today its operators will be on the job helping customers complete calls and providing telephone number information around the clock during Christmas and New Year's.
The company estimates operators across the state will help complete 320,000 calls on Christmas Eve and Christmas day, while directory assistance operators will handle an estimated 645,000 requests for number information.
New Year's will be even busier. Operators will help complete some 332,000 calls and handle 787,000 number requests.
Even though they work over the holidays, operators say a festive mood prevails, thanks to the nature of the requests.
Operators have been asked at what temperature to roast a turkey. And for gift ideas and street directions. And many customers simply call to wish operators a happy holiday.
