BELL INDUSTRIES ELECTS THREE NEW DIRECTORS TO THE BOARD

 LOS ANGELES, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Three new directors were elected to the board at today's annual meeting of shareholders of Bell Industries Inc. (NYSE: BI).
 They are Anthony L. Craig, senior vice president, Oracle Systems Corp.; Stanley S. Fine, independent consultant and senior vice president and director, United Guardian Inc.; and Charles S. Troy, president, E&S Ring Management Corp.
 Craig, 48, served as chief executive officer of Prime Computer and held management positions with IBM and General Electric Corp. prior to assuming his present position in 1992 with Oracle, a publicly owned data base and consulting company with annual revenues of more than $1 billion. He is a director of Iomega Corp.
 Fine, 65, served from 1986 to 1991 as chairman and president of Great Enterprise Ltd., a publicly owned company engaged in health care and manufacturing heavy equipment. United Guardian is a publicly owned company that manufactures health care and cosmetic products. Fine retired from the U.S. Navy as a Rear Admiral in 1978 after 33 years of service, during which he held senior financial management positions, including that of Budget Director of the Navy Department.
 Troy, 50, has been president and chief executive officer of E&S Ring Management, a regional property management firm in Southern California for the past five years. Previously, he was an executive with Bullock's Department Stores, serving as director of operations for 28 stores. Troy is a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he received a B.A. in Industrial and Labor Relations.
 The new directors succeed Howard Franklin, Nathan Landgarten and Dr. Ellis Ring, who retired from the board.
 Incumbent directors re-elected to the seven-member board at the meeting were Theodore Williams, president and chief executive officer, Bell Industries; Bruce M. Jaffe, executive vice president and chief operating officer, Bell Industries; John J. Cost, corporate secretary and partner, Irell & Manella, attorneys; and Milton Rosenberg, private investor and consultant to high technology companies.
 Bell Industries distributes and manufactures products for the electronics, computer, graphics and other industrial markets.
