 BELL ATLANTIC ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE CHANGES
 PHILADELPHIA, Jan. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Bell Atlantic Corporation


(NYSE: BEL) today announced that James H. Dickerson Jr., has been elected to the position of vice president-finance and controller, effective Feb. 16, replacing William L. Bardeen.
 Barbara L. Connor has been elected to the position of vice president-treasurer, replacing Dickerson.
 Bardeen, age 53, has accepted the position of senior vice president and chief financial officer at Philadelphia Electric Company. "I've enjoyed my tenure at Bell Atlantic. It has been a very fulfilling and rewarding experience. Jim Dickerson is, in my mind, the right choice for this job with his vast financial experience, both at Bell Atlantic and other world-class companies."

 Dickerson, age 45, was elected vice president-treasurer of Bell Atlantic Corporation in March 1991. Prior to that, he was president and chief executive officer of Bell Atlantic TriCon Leasing, a position he had held since October 1986. Before joining Bell Atlantic in 1983 as executive director and assistant chief financial officer, Dickerson had served in various positions with AT&T, Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, Coopers and Lybrand, and the American Express Company. He is a graduate of Rider College.
 Connor, age 41, was elected assistant vice president-finance of New Jersey Bell in November 1990. Prior to that, she was executive director-corporate treasury of Bell Atlantic Corporation. Connor began her career with Bell Atlantic in 1973. She has held positions in investor relations and financial operations, as well as in the treasury department of Bell of Pennsylvania and
Diamond State Telephone. A graduate of Immaculata College, Connor also completed graduate studies in economics from the University of Notre Dame and received an M.B.A. from Rider College.
