BEACON COUNCIL ANNOUNCES 1994 ECONOMIC FORECAST LUNCHEON FOR JAN. 27; ARTHUR ANDERSEN'S WORLDWIDE MANAGING PARTNER RICHARD MEASELLE TO SPEAK

MIAMI, Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- The Beacon Council will host the 1994 Economic Forecast Luncheon at which guest speaker Richard Measelle, worldwide managing partner of Arthur Andersen, will share his views on emerging international business patterns, their impact on the national market, and what that means for Miami/Dade County businesses.
The luncheon will be held Jan. 27, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at Miami's Hotel InterContinental. (Special parking arrangements have been made for participants.)
"The winds of economic and political change know no borders," said Measelle, in describing the shifting trends in world business. "Today it is difficult to separate global issues from domestic issues because of the integration of trade and financial markets. There are some significant patterns that have begun emerging in the early 1990s because of a revolution in communications, developing technologies, a move toward strong service sectors and the impact of trade on global markets. Discerning these patterns and adapting to their idiosyncrasies is what will spell success in global markets in the '90s. With all these changes, the only rule that hasn't changed over the years is the survival of the fittest," he added.
As managing partner for Arthur Andersen, Richard Measelle is responsible for the firm's complete audit and business advisory, tax and other corporate services. Arthur Andersen is a unit of the Arthur Andersen Worldwide Organization, with over 67,000 personnel in 324 offices in 72 countries, and has revenues in excess of $6 billion. Measelle's career with Arthur Andersen spans 30 years, and includes seven years in Spain.
Registration will open at 11:30 a.m., and the cost is $30 per person. Reservations may be made by calling Cindy Hernandez at The Beacon Council at 305-536-8035.
This annual economic forecast event organized by The Beacon Council is an effort to assist the Dade County business community gain a greater understanding of economic conditions and the opportunities that exist for our area.
