BD2,000 help for AWA's charity run.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON has stepped in with a BD2,000 charity gift for the American Women's Association's Cherry Tree Trot (CTT) 2008.

Association president Mona Omar received the cheque from Harley Davidson managing director Monther Al Mutlaq.

The donation makes Harley Davidson a silver sponsor of the biennial fund-raiser.

The CTT is set to be held on February 29 at the Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir.

More than 2,000 runners of all ages and abilities are expected to take part in the fun run.

The participants will include students from various private and government schools, from disabled institutions and rehabilitation centres, as well as senior citizens from elderly homes.

The last race was held on February 2006 and raised more than BD44,000.

Harley-Davidson Middle East director of operations Lisa Schlensker said the company was proud to be part of this long tradition of the Cherry Tree Trot.
