BCA announces the resignation of its founder, chairman and chief executive officer.

Melville, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 10, 1995--Biomechanics Corp. of America (NASDAQ:BCAM) announced today that Dr. Clifford M. Gross, its founder, chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer has resigned effective Feb. 16, 1995 to pursue other interests. Dr. Gross is expected to remain as a consultant to the company.

It is expected that the board at its Feb. 16, 1995 meeting will name Michael Strauss, currently president and chief operating officer, to the additional posts of chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer. In addition, Robert Wong, currently a director and consultant to the company, will be named as vice chairman and chief technology officer.

Strauss joined the company on Jan. 3, 1995 and was most recently president and chief operating officer of Colorado Prime Corp. He previously held positions as chairman and chief executive officer of Capital Credit Corp., a subsidiary of Union Corp., and executive vice president and member of the board of Union Corp. Additionally, Strauss had a twelve year career with American Express in various senior management positions including: president of American Express Canada, executive vice president, Financial Services Division, Shearson Lehman Brothers and executive vice president, American Express Travel Related Services.

Wong was appointed to the company's board of directors in February of 1994. Wong previously served as president of a number of high growth public and private companies and has also acted as a consultant to technology-driven and research and development companies. Wong has been working very closely with the company over the past several months as a consultant in the technology area.

Both Strauss and Wong will continue to work closely with the company's technical staff, particularly Dr. Cindy Lu and Tom Cassar, who have been managing the intelligent surface technology effort, to further the company's proprietary biomechanics technology.
