BBC to put IQ to test.

THE BBC is to test the IQs of people across the nation in an ambitious evening of programmes, it was announced today.

BBC1 will devote a Saturday night to the experiment which should sort out boffins from buffoons with a series of puzzles.

Viewers will also be able to join in the national first, which takes place in the coming weeks as part of the BBC's spring and summer season.

"Results from across the nation could prove or disprove existing stereotypes, " said a spokeswoman.
