BAZ'S HOME WIN; Ex-Ranger queues to snap up luxury house.

Byline: RECORD REPORTER

FORMER Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson stunned a group of house hunters by turning up to queue for a pounds 240,000 house, it was revealed yesterday.

Wearing a woolly hat, Baz, who recently joined Blackburn Rovers in a pounds 7.5 million deal, mingled with the crowd before snapping up the pad after a five-day wait.

He had dumped his new teammates to return north of the Border to make the purchase.

Barry, 25, was joined in the queue on Wednesday by his ex-Ibrox pals Craig Moore and Bob Malcolm.

But he stopped short of waiting overnight other house-hunters said he only queued during the day.

Instead, he swapped places with a pal who had queued for him.

A house buyer told how Ferguson stood quietly in the queue in Hamilton on the day the plots were sold.

She said: ``A guy was pointed out to me as being Barry Ferguson. He took someone's place in the queue as did two other players. They were pretty quiet.''

``I had spotted Ferguson a couple of times but it was only on Wednesday he stood for a couple of hours.''

Property fever kicked off last Friday after it emerged the homes would go on sale in the Barncluith Park development, near Hamilton, this week.

All 20 plots had been sold or reserved by yesterday. The value of the properties is thought to have risen by pounds 25,000 after being bought.

Barry was able to queue as he was ineligible to play in Rovers' UEFA Cup match on Wednesday night.
