BARREL BODY GANG PROBE.
A MAN found bound and gagged at the foot of 600ft cliffs may have been killed in a gangland-style hit.
Police believe the mystery man was thrown over in a bungled bid to have his body washed out to sea.
He had also been squashed into a 3ft-wide plastic barrel before being rolled off the cliff at Beachy Head, East Sussex. The victim was black, 5ft 8in tall and in his early 30s. He had been stabbed repeatedly in the body and head.
His feet and hands were bound and head covered in a sealed plastic bag.
Detectives are probing possible links to Yardie drug gangs in London.
Forensic experts were yesterday examining tyre tracks on the cliff top.
Det Chief Insp Tony O'Donnell said: "It is a callous and despicable way to murder and dispose of someone."
Two other bodies were spotted nearby by a police helicopter were suicides. Initially, police believed there were four bodies because of the condition they were in.
