BARRED AGAIN; Star's pub ban will last decade: EXCLUSIVE.

Byline: MARION SCOTT

HIBS bad boy Derek Riordan's five-year nightclub ban has been doubled to 10 years.

The Scotland striker, 26, was hit with the exclusion order from 45 venues in Edinburgh after being caught flouting the ban a fourth time.

He was first banned for 12 months in May last year for allegedly abusing staff. That was doubled to two years months later when he was spotted in the Espionage club.

He was then banned for five years when his team-mates were caught sneaking him into Lulu club last October.

Now he's serving the 10-year ban from the 45 venues who are members of the Unight network.

Just after the latest ban, there was a blaze at a mansion he owns but rents out.

Firefighters tackled the fire at the property at Castleview, Airth, on Friday at noon.

His 10-year ban was given after he sneaked into Jongleurs comedy club through a door from another venue that isn't a Unight member.

A Unight insider said: "People were very angry that he was repeatedly flouting the order. However, it was decided that a 10-year rather than life ban was in order."

Riordan's agent Jim McArthur said: "Derek was out with some friends in a bar which wasn't part of the Unight scheme and he did go with them from that bar into another venue to hear a stand-up comedian.

"There was no indication it was part of the Unight scheme. The security staff made no attempt to remove him or tell him he shouldn't be there.

"He hasn't been made aware of any change to the ban."

Unight chairwoman Sarah David said: "We cannot make any official comment about any individual."
