BARR AND OCAW REACH AGREEMENT

 POMONA, N.Y., May 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Barr Laboratories, Inc. (AMEX: BRL) Barr Laboratories, Inc. announced today that the tentative agreement between Barr Laboratories and Local 8-149 of the Oil, Chemical, and Atomic Workers International Union has been ratified by the union's membership.
 The union ratification brought to a successful conclusion collective bargaining negotiations which began in March of this year. The new agreement will remain in effect for a term of three years.
 "Over the past several months, management and the union leadership negotiated responsibly and professionally over some very tough issues," said Catherine F. Higgins, Barr's vice president of Human Resources. "As a result, both sides have an agreement, which will keep Barr in the forefront of regulatory compliance, product quality and safety, and will maximize productivity, efficiency and safety in the our workplace."
 Barr Laboratories is a manufacturer of a broad range of multi-source pharmaceutical products with manufacturing facilities located in Northvale, N.J. and Pomona, N.Y.
