BAROID CORPORATION SUBSIDIARY ACQUIRES BROWN & ROOT SURVEY, LTD.
HOUSTON, Feb. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Baroid Corporation (NYSE: BRC) today announced that its SubSea, Ltd. subsidiary recently completed the acquisition of Brown & Root Survey from Brown & Root, Ltd. Renamed SubSea Survey, the company will continue to provide offshore surveying services to the oil and gas industry in the North Sea. For the past decade, SubSea and Brown & Root Survey have benefited from a close working relationship in the North Sea market. Recently acquired by Baroid, SubSea is a leading provider of underwater services, engineering and equipment manufacturing related to the installation and maintenance of subsea wells, pipelines, platforms and other offshore structures. According to Herb Newbury, president of SubSea, "We realized that Brown & Root Survey's expertise was a natural complement to SubSea's presence in the offshore inspection, repair and maintenance market.
