 BARNETT PROMOTES CURRY; GIVES MIMS ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
 JACKSONVILLE, Fla., June 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Barnett Banks, Inc. (NYSE: BBI) has named Teri Curry director of Accounting Operations. In her new position, Curry is responsible for Barnett's three accounting regions, as well as nonbank accounting and internal control.
 Curry joined Barnett in 1981 as a financial reporting officer. She was named assistant vice president of Financial Reporting in 1984, promoted to manager of Financial Systems in 1987, and elevated to director of Affiliate Accounting and Financial Systems in 1991.
 Curry holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Florida State University. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is the current president of P.E.O. chapter HA.
 Andrea Mims, currently director of Management Information for Barnett Banks, Inc. will assume additional responsibilities. She will now also be responsible for the coordination of financial systems with Barnett Technologies, Inc., management reporting and maintaining the integrity of financial data.
 Prior to joining Barnett in 1991, Mims was associated with Barnett's management information systems as a consultant for over 25 years. She is former owner of Management Information Associates, Inc. in Jacksonville.
 Mims holds a bachelor's degree in math and chemistry from Auburn University. She is a member of the Florida Bankers Association Financial Data Committee and a former Trustee of The Bolles School in Jacksonville.
